1. Be aware that criminals and other opportunists may “crash” your wedding, funeral, block party, tailgate, or holiday party.  With enough people and enough drinks, they may be able to blend in with the crowd and make off with purses, gifts, money, car keys and even tip jars meant for your bartender.

2.If you have a large party, use a guest list at the door or have your guests bring their invitation to get in.  You may also choose to make name tags for your guests.

3. Have friends help you approach people at large parties and identify people you don’t recognize.  Sometimes, the more is not the merrier!

4. Have a secure area for coats and purses that can be accessed only by the house owner(s) and/or an assigned helper(s).

5. Don’t forget those holiday party photos may just come in handy identifying any wrongdoers.

6. Don’t become a criminal yourself!!  Don’t let guests drink and drive.
