Person of interest in University area |

Recently Second District Detectives developed a person of ineterest in
the University area burglaries. The person we are wanting the citizens
to be aware of is Teddy Moore, Mr. Moore's picture and information is
in the PDF section of the Email Blast. When you log onto Google
groups (visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/NOPD2-EmailBlast?hl=en)
look under the heading name PDF file, it is above the standard
email headings. Click (Teddy Moore 62) file and it will ask to open or
save. Do either and it should open revealing the suspect composite
drawing.
If you see this person do not confront him. Call 911 or 821-2222.
Remember to report any suspicious persons or activities you see in
your neighborhood by calling 821-2222. In an emergency, call 911
immediately.

2nd District Email Blast Armed Robbery Pursuit and Arrest |

On January 19, 2009 at approximately 9:50 pm, the victim was exiting
her vehicle in the 6000 block of Laurel Street. At that time two black
males approached the victim armed with semi-auto handguns and demanded
her property. The victim complied and the suspects entered a dark
colored Mercedes Benz and fled in an unknown direction. Alert Second
District Officers spotted the suspect vehicle a short time later and
attempted to conduct an investigatory stop. At that time, it was found
to have been a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The suspect
vehicle refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit
ended at the I-10/I-12/ I-59 split where both suspects were
apprehended and charged for the offense. During the arrest three
Second District Officers were injured and taken to an area hospital
for treatment.

On January 6,2009, at 10:30am, the victim left his residence in the
3100 block of Upperline and returned a short time later to find the
window screens removed from the house and the pry marks on each of the
windows. The side door had been kicked and footprints left on the
door. A neighbor observed one of the neighborhood kids a known
juvenile in the yard at the time of the attempted breakin. The
neighbor confronted the juvenile and he fled.
*UPDATE*
On January 12, 2009 the suspect was developed and positively
identified by the witness in a photographic line-up. On January 14,
2009, Second District detectives applied for and received a juvenile
warrant for the arrest of the juvenile.

On January 16, 2009 at approximately 6:40 pm, the victim was sitting
in her vehicle at the intersection of Milan and South Tonti. At that
time, an unknown black male robbed the victim at gunpoint and fled in
her vehicle towards South Broad then unknown. The vehicle was later
recovered in the 1700 block of South Dupre.
The suspect is described as a black male, 16 to 20 years of age, 5’9”,
150 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a dark skull cap. He was armed
with an unknown type black handgun.
