Job Title: Part Time Desk Ambassador 

 

Reports to:

Arts & Wellness Center Office Manager

 

Compensation and Employment Terms:

$12/hour for 10-15 hours/week; must be able to work some evenings and 2 Saturdays each month. This is a part-time position with no benefits associated. Work must be completed on-site at the Broadmoor Arts & Wellness Center (3900 General Taylor) and Keller Community Center (4300 S Broad). The Arts & Wellness Center is open Monday-Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-2pm, and the Keller Community Center is open Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm and Friday-Saturday 10am-5pm.

Position Description: 

The Broadmoor Improvement Association seeks a part-time Desk Ambassador to join our team to provide excellent customer service to the diverse community members that utilize and visit the Broadmoor Arts & Wellness Center and Keller Community Center. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their skills and experience in a vibrant, community-based setting that serves the Broadmoor neighborhood. The ideal candidate will understand what it means to work as part of a team to deliver professional customer service.

Senior citizens, Spanish speaking individuals, and Broadmoor residents are strongly encouraged to apply. 

 

Job Duties: 

Customer Service (75%): 

  • Greet all visitors to the Center at the front desk. 

  • Answer phone calls, field questions, and refer inquiries to the appropriate BIA or library staff.

  • Provide tours of the facility, referring individuals to the website for space rental requests. 

  • Maintain event sign-in sheets for tracking attendance. 

  • Assist rental clients in setting up, ensuring access to technical equipment and supplies. 

 

Facility Management (15%): 

  • Follow policies and procedures to safely open and close the building.

  • Maintain and organize the community flyers and front desk area. 

  • Check rental spaces, bathrooms, and kitchen for cleanliness and replenish supplies. 

  • Report any facilities issues to the appropriate BIA staff member. 

 

Data Entry (10%): 

  • Log any referrals made to BIA services in a Google form.

  • Log attendance information for Arts & Wellness Center events in a Google form. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate for the Desk Ambassador position will demonstrate the ability to: 

  • Provide excellent customer service to the diverse tenants, clients, and community members.

  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, even when working with challenging individuals. 

  • Think creatively to solve problems and identify team members to ask for help when necessary. 

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to foster a friendly and welcoming environment.

  • Maintain confidentiality and anonymity of all visitors, especially BIA counseling clients. 

  • Utilize the Google suite, including Gmail and Google Forms, for communication and logging attendance.

 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: 

  • Stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. 

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to limited computer work.

  • Light to moderate lifting is required.

  • Regular, punctual attendance is required.
