Gain valuable on-the-job experience in Home Improvement, Fashion, Flood Mitigation, and Horticulture!

The BIA invites Broadmoor residents to spend their summer making important contributions to the neighborhood while experiencing first-hand the rewards that come with working for the people of Broadmoor. The Broadmoor Improvement Association offers un-paid internship opportunities with flexible hours

Individuals should meet the following criteria:

  • Resident of Broadmoor or live in 70125 zip code

  • Youth 14 - 17 and Adults 18+

  • Must commit to at least 3 hours a week with a total of at least 12 hours spent in the internship 

  • Willing to commit to a four week internship

​

 Please Read & Sign 2022 BIA Internship Release and Waiver of Liability Form

​

There will be a graduation ceremony held for Interns who complete the internship. Interns will be able to share what they learn during this experience and receive a special certificate

on Monday, July 18, 2022.

Internship Placements are for Residents Youth 14 - 17 and Adults 18+

who can commit at least 3 hours a week for four weeks

 Interested parties should pick up a Broadmoor Summer Internship application at Broadmoor Arts & Wellness Center, located at

3900 General Taylor St, New Orleans, LA, 70125 or online. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday, May 31, 2022 - Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Tool Lending Library Internship

Rain Garden Internship

Flood Mitigation

  • Bed preparation and planting.

  • Seeding, transplanting, thinning, and fertilizing seedlings.

  • Cultivation.lawn care, and weeding.

  • Pest and disease management.

  •  Harvesting and packing of crops for The Broadmoor Food Pantry

  •  Cover cropping

  • Maintenance of grounds and site infrastructure.

  •  Record-keeping
