Celebrating 2019's Biggest Milestones

Whether you're new to the neighborhood or a long-time Broadmoorian, we have many milestones to celebrate from 2019. The Broadmoor Improvement Association would not exist without your commitment to our mission. We look forward to more big accomplishments in 2020!

Here are some of our milestones from 2019

In 2019, the BIA oversaw the provision of over 1,500 counseling hours for individuals, couples, and families available on a sliding-fee scale.

We served 888 unique households at the Broadmoor Food Pantry with an impact on 2,065 individuals, including 663 children. Additionally, nearly 50% of recipients live in the 70125 zip code, and we served over 32 zip codes total.

The BIA welcomed our new Executive Director, Sarah Pritchard. With over a decade of experience in nonprofit management, Sarah leads the development of strategic partnerships and programs to enhance the overall quality of life in Broadmoor.

The BIA hosted two EATmoor! Festivals in partnership with Rosa F. Keller Library featuring local food vendors, community resources, live music, and family fun to support the Broadmoor Food Pantry.

After nearly 10 years of dedication to our community, our Wellness Director, Anamaria Villamarin-Lupin, graduated from the BIA with her last class of social work interns. We wish them all the best!

In partnership with the Tulane School of Public Health and Broadmoor Community Church, we now have an expansive community garden, which helps provide fresh produce to the Broadmoor Food Pantry.

Our Broadmoor Day of Service event brought together volunteers to clean 50 catch basins in the neighborhood and canvass 70 homes with information about our community survey and green infrastructure resources.

100 Broadmoor residents completed the community survey to share their input on top priorities for the neighborhood. We will use these responses to help shape our programs and initiatives moving forward.

Now let's get ready for a successful 2020!

Thanks for your continued support of the Broadmoor Improvement Association. We're proud to be a neighborhood that values inclusivity, and we work hard to serve the needs of every member of our community.
