Thank you for successful Broadmoor Holiday Drive!

Updated: Jan 8, 2021

2021 is off to a great start in Broadmoor! Thank you to everyone who donated non perishable food to the Broadmoor Holiday Drive. The Holiday Drive was a collaborative effort by the Krewe of House Floats, The Broadmoor Improvement Association and the local Broadmoor businesses listed below to benefit the Broadmoor Food Pantry.

A huge thanks to the following businesses and organizations that served as drop-off locations for the food drive:

Donations from The Krewe of House Floats totaled 454.2lbs worth of food. The Krewe of House Floats - Broadmoor/Fontainbleau/Marlyville Facebook Group was also instrumental in securing non perishable donations with dozens of krewe members sharing, liking and participating in this drive to combat food insecurity in Broadmoor.

The President of City Wholesale Liquor Company Jan M. said “City Wholesale Liquor Co. was delighted to participate in the Broadmoor Holiday Drive. The people of the Broadmoor neighborhood are a treasure and we need to help one another during difficult times.”

While this drive is over, the philanthropic efforts of everyone have been greatly appreciated and paves the way for more community outreach efforts that the BIA has planned for this year. The Broadmoor Food Pantry is an emergency pantry that serves those in need in the Greater New Orleans area on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are supported by Second Harvest, the Broadmoor Improvement Association, and local church organizations. The Food Pantry has a number of volunteer positions available and we follow the State of Louisiana COVID guidelines to ensure the safety of volunteers and pantry recipients. Sign up today via Second Harvest Food Bank Volunteer portal to assist us in feeding our community!
